Congratulations to 27-year DDC vet Kelly Konifka of Troy who recently won a lease on a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon at DDC’s 75th anniversary celebration in August.
Over 600 people were in attendance when DDC gave away the Jeep at Druthers Brewing Company in Clifton Park.
Ten finalists were randomly selected from the nearly 330 eligible DDC employees, all of whom have worked for DDC for a minimum of 1 year.
“All I can say is ‘WOW,’ I’m still in shock,” said Konifka, who works in DDC’s Accounts Receivable department. “I never expected to win the Jeep. This is only one of the many reasons DeCrescente Distributing Company is an amazing place to work. To give a prize of this value to show how much you appreciate your employees is just amazing. I couldn’t be prouder to say I work for the DeCrescente family.”
Over the course of the day, DDC gave out numerous prizes to its employees in attendance, including truck drivers, warehouse workers, office staff, retailer merchandisers, service technicians, mechanics, sales, and more.
“You only turn 75 once and we wanted to do something truly special for the employees who helped get us here,” said DDC President C.J. DeCrescente. “It was a great moment in our proud history and a day hopefully our employees will remember for years to come!”
The anniversary event was held in the outdoor space at Druthers Brewing Company in Clifton Park. It featured activities like the Smile Lounge Interactive 360-degree video booth, axe throwing by Generation Axe, a Stewart’s Shops ice cream cart and live music from the popular local band the Radio Junkies.
Druthers Brewing Company also brewed and canned a special beer to celebrate DDC’s 75th anniversary. The “Family Business Lager” was served at the celebration and enjoyed by DDC employees. Click here to watch Druthers’ head brewer talk about the beer!
DeCrescente Distributing Company was founded in 1948 by Angelo DeCrescente, who started the business with one truck in his hometown of Mechanicville, New York.
