Just in time for the upcoming holiday season, our friends at Stewart’s Shops are rolling out a special, limited-edition half-gallon ice cream flavor with a familiar name on it!
Beginning this week, customers can find Carmine’s Holiday Spumoni at all 400+ Stewart’s Shop locations in the area.
The flavor was a token of appreciation awarded to C.J. and the DeCrescente family for a generous contribution made to the Saratoga Hospital Foundation.
C.J. was given the rare opportunity to name a new ice cream flavor. His choice: Carmine’s Holiday Spumoni, a festive ice cream featuring layers of chocolate, cherry with Maraschino cherries, and pistachio ice cream with nuts.
The name is in honor of C.J.’s father, known affectionately to many as “Carm,” who was President of DeCrescente Distributing Company from 1973 to 1997.
“This kind of generosity not only allows us to bring another great ice cream flavor to the area, it is proof that giving back makes life a little sweeter,” said Chad Kiesow, president of Stewart’s Shops.
“We’re just grateful to be in a position to help the hospital in this way,” said C.J. DeCrescente, third-generation President of DDC.
DeCrescente Distributing Company is a fourth-generation beverage company founded by Angelo DeCrescente in 1948. The Company has a long-standing tradition of supporting local communities and charitable causes.
The donation will help fund programs at Saratoga Hospital.
Carmine’s Holiday Spumoni will be available for a limited time during the holiday season at Stewart’s Shops. Only 50,000 half gallons were made, so get yours before they’re gone!
