The first-ever DDC Truck Rodeo was held on Saturday, Sept. 9, in conjunction with Driver Appreciation Week, with fifteen of our delivery drivers squaring off in skills competitions at DDC HQ.
The drivers competed in three categories: a written test, a pre-trip inspection competition, and a driving course contest.
In the end, veteran driver Ron Hartman won the driving contest and was also named the Grand Champion of the event, earning the top combined score. For his efforts, Ron won $1,250, the use of a brand-new personalized tractor for 2024, and the chance to compete in the TANY statewide Truck Rodeo next year.
As a special thank you for earning their 6th consecutive Trucking Association of New York Fleet Safety Award, our drivers were also served grab ‘n’ go breakfast on Wednesday, Sept. 13. They also left with a DDC soft cooler packed full of energy drinks.
We’re also raffling off amazing prizes for the drivers all week, including golf bags, cornhole sets, a foosball table, a solo stove, and more to show our appreciation for this amazing team who works hard for us day in and day out!
