Distilled from scratch using a custom blend of malted barley and aged over three years in charred oak barrels, it's an intensely immersive whiskey, layered and nuanced, both warming and enticing! On the nose, pleasant notes of caramel, honey and orange. On the palate, it is very smooth, with soft and round notes of caramel and toffee and with a long lasting spicy finish.

Nearest Green was the first known African-American Master Distiller. Affectionately nicknamed Uncle Nearest by his friends and family in Lynchburg, Tenn., Nearest is credited with helping perfect the globally recognized Lincoln County Process, which is the only thing that distinguishes Kentucky Bourbon from Tennessee Whiskey (other than geography). This unique filtering of bourbon through sugar maple charcoal was named after the county where Nearest lived and made whiskey.

We harvested our own Straight Whiskey and finished it in freshly emptied Dogfish Apple Brandy barrels as well as Angry Orchard Hard Apple Cider Barrels. Aromas of cinnamon & wildflower honey with a taste of fresh green apples, buttery dry oaked chardonnay & roasted chestnut.
