Starting out in one of our entry-level positions is a great way to begin a career in the beverage industry and gain the experience needed to grow and advance within the Company.  Merchandisers have the unique opportunity to work with a team of Beer and Soft Drink Sales Representatives on a daily basis- this is the perfect way to begin exploring a career in sales.  Employees who wish to move into sales careers may also apply to participate in STEP (Sales Training Exploration Program).  In STEP, students learn exactly how DDC goes to market and learn about the competencies required to become a successful sales trainee or sales representative.  Employees in Merchandising and Re-set positions often pursue careers in sales, but employees in from our Operations teams have also moved into the ranks of our sales force.

Similarly, employees interested in Operations also have the opportunity to earn their CDL-A through our Driver Trainee Program.  DDC’s Driver Trainee program is a “learn while you earn” program which includes salary increases as candidates earn their permit and then their CDLA license.  Shadowing professional drivers and learning how to effectively merchandise and service customer accounts is a fantastic way to learn!  This program is available to qualified employees, and provides a straightforward path to licensing without the additional high cost of driving school.

We are currently seeking a Brand Manager to join our team!

The Brand Manager is responsible for managing the portfolio of specified brands by developing and implementing projects to facilitate a growing market share, while maintaining the highest possible gross product.  This position will develop and annual sales and marketing plan by setting volume goals by year, trimester and channel as well as distribution goals.  The Brand Manager is also responsible for developing and implementing retail goals, tactics and programs as well as building and executing national marketing promotions, brand package initiatives, and channel strategies. This position is responsible for budget management to ensure proper marketing mix (media, POS, sampling, incentives, etc.). The Brand Manager will also work with the Pricing Manager and Category Management departments to establish shelf and pricing strategies. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining strong supplier relationships by managing the flow of communication between the supplier and DDC as well as maintaining positive interactions and relationships with our vendors. The Brand Manager is responsible for inventory management within their portfolio to include; forecasting, and introducing new brands. This position will also complete weekly administrative assignments and report results to the Director of Marketing.

 

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field with 3-5 years’ experience; strong work experience may be substituted for part or all of the degree requirement
  • Proficient in technology to include Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop, implement and maintain quality marketing programs
  • Demonstrates the ability to evaluate problems and complete tasks in the committed timeframe

Drivers are responsible for the overall safe operation of DeCrescente Distributing Company vehicles. The Driver must ensure that all company and safety procedures are followed. The Driver is also responsible for providing superior customer service while performing their duties. This position will provide daily delivery of all customer-purchased product to the accounts they are assigned. The driver will pick up all empty cases and or kegs at their respective stops daily as well as ensuring proper rotation of product with every delivery.

The driver is responsible for the accurate order fulfillment, and collection of the requisite payments and/or signatures that accompany each order. Earn your CDL Class A license while you work!

Our Driver Trainee position will help you earn a Class A Commercial Driver’s License by putting YOU in the driver’s seat. The Grocery Chain Sales Trainee is a position that is geared towards understanding all aspects of the Sales Training program within a 6 to 12 month period. The Grocery Chain Sales Trainee is initially assigned to the Merchandising Department for the purpose of learning strong Merchandising processes as well as critical features of Grocery Chain Selling

The Trainee will be responsible to stock coolers and shelves (Beer/NA/Chips) neatly with product, construct and/or maintain product displays, while accurately pricing and rotating product.  The Trainee will also learn about all of the products DDC distributes (Beer, Soft Drinks, and Chips) including pricing, order-taking, display building, maintaining assigned POS and taking care of damaged goods.

The schedule for this position will include one weekend 

Successful Candidates will possess the following:

  • H.S. Diploma and 2 years general employment or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Sales and merchandising related work experience or a minimum of 1 year related experience preferably in the beverage industry

Support/Relief hours available Saturday and Sunday. Shifts are 4-8 hours in length, and include early morning hours, starting as early as 4am.
